LG pulled off a thrilling come-from-behind victory over the weekend in the El Lloracico Series.

Lotte couldn’t hold on to a 3-0 lead after starting pitcher Staley pitched 5.1 scoreless innings.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, with LG down 1-3, Hong Chang-ki led off with a walk and Moon Sung-ju followed with a triple to right-center to cut the deficit to 2-3. Kim Hyun-soo followed with an RBI single to tie the game.

In the bottom of the eighth, it was LG’s time. Moon Bo-kyung laid down the law. Coming up to bat in place of leadoff hitter Kim Min-sung, Moon took a three-pitch forkball from Lotte’s Koo Seung-min for a single to right.

She then advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Park Hae-min. LOTTE’s crucial error came when Park Dong-won calmly drew a walk to put runners on first and second.

LOTTE shortstop Park Seung-wook caught Shin Min-jae’s grounder and threw to second base. However, the second base was empty. Ahn Chi-hong slipped as he tried to get to second base, and the ball sliced through the air. Moon Bo-kyung took advantage of the mistake, which could have ended the inning, and drove home the winning run.

Lotte brought in Kim Won-joong to close out the inning, but they couldn’t stop LG’s offense.

With the bases loaded, Moon Sung-joo hit a two-run double to center field to make it 6-3. Kim Hyun-soo followed with an RBI single to bring in Moon to seal the deal.

On the mound, LG’s Lee Jung-yong, making his first start since his debut, was shaky, giving up three hits and one walk in two innings. Choi Dong-hwan and Jung Woo-young followed, but were unable to overwhelm the Lotte bats.

However, the LG bats refused to give up, and Lee Woo-chan, Ham Deok-joo, Park Myung-geun, Kim Jin-sung, and Go Woo-seok combined for a no-hitter to preserve the win.
