Nine wins in 11 games, ‘form-crazy’ Jeju’s strong winning mentality…forgetting defeat, winning has become a habit

Defeat has been forgotten and winning has become a habit. Jeju United is on a roll.

Jeju advanced to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup with a hard-fought 4-3 victory over Daejeon Hana Citizens in the round of 16 at Jeju World Cup Stadium on Thursday.

It was a roller coaster ride for Jeju. Jeju cruised to a 2-0 halftime lead, but a lapse in concentration in the second half led to a 2-2 tie. They regained the lead with a goal from Yuri Jonatan, but then conceded again. However, Jeju remained focused and used a fantastic passing play to get into the penalty box, forcing an own goal from their opponent and scoring the winning goal.먹튀검증

The game confirmed Jeju’s strong winning mentality. The team’s upward trend, which included five wins and one draw in six K League 1 matches, continued into the FA Cup. Jeju has accumulated a whopping nine wins in 11 matches in both the K League 1 and FA Cup. They haven’t lost in over a month after losing to Jeonbuk Hyundai on March 23. The dominant run has seen them finish third in the K League 1 and reach the quarterfinals of the FA Cup. The team has been on a steep upward trajectory since overcoming an extremely poor start to the season.

Head coach Nam Ki-il, the players, and the secretariat now have the confidence to win. At the very least, they are bound by the belief that they will not lose. A club official said, “Looking at our recent games, I’m not too worried. Even today, we didn’t feel like we were going to lose,” he said, explaining the recent mood.

Today’s victory had a definite effect. Not only did they continue their upward trend, but Lee Ki-hyuk and Kim Seung-seop scored their first goals for Jeju, giving them a boost of confidence. Lee’s replacement, Yuri Jonatan, is also picking up the pace. Through proper rotation, key players have also built up their stamina. Coach Nam said, “We have a lot of league left. I think we will gain confidence from today’s game. We’re trying to keep the squad diverse. It’s encouraging. (Lee Ki-hyuk and Kim Seung-seop) scored goals, so I’m looking forward to the next game.”

Jeju will host Suwon Samsung on Nov. 27 and Gangwon FC on Nov. 3 in K League 1. The team hopes to continue its upward trend in a three-game home stand that started against Daejeon. Both Suwon and Gangwon are in the bottom half of the table, so this is a great opportunity for Jeju. If they win both matches at home, they can stay in second place.

Coach Nam said, “The players want to keep the good momentum going. I also want to continue the trend of not losing, and if we continue to strengthen this mindset, it will be our strength. The players want to do better at home. They are playing better. The next match will be the same. There are no easy matches, but if we do what we do, we can win,” he said.
