Michelson, DeChambeau, Johnson… Seven members of LIV Golf qualify for the US Open
Players from LIV Golf were guaranteed a spot in the US Open.
The United States Golf Association (USGA) announced the qualifications for this year’s US Open on the 10th (Korean time). Compared to last year, 4 qualifications have been added: winner of the Latin American Amateur Championship, National Collegiate Sports (NCAA) Individual Champion, and 2022 PGA Conferri Tour Points 1st, PGA Tour FedEx Cup 스포츠토토on May 22 and the top 5 in the rankings.
LIV golf players were also guaranteed to participate. Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson (Above USA) and Martin Kramer (Germany), who have won the tournament for the past 10 years, can compete without any problems. 2021 PGA Championship winner Phil Mickelson (USA) and last year’s The Open champion Cameron Smith (Australia) are also eligible to compete. Joaquin Niemann (Chile), who participated in the final round of the PGA Tour last season, is also guaranteed to participate.
However, other LIV golf players will have to qualify through other means. To qualify for the US Open, players must be in the top 60 in the world rankings by May 22 or June 12. In addition, the winners of the Masters in April and the PGA Championship in May are also given the right to participate.
