‘Former PGA Member’ Kim Min-hwi, Asian Tour Seed Acquisition

Former PGA Tour member Kim Min-hwi (31) will be active on the Asian Tour starting this season.

On the 22nd, on the final day of the Asian Tour Qualifying School, which ended at Lakeview Resort & Golf Club (par 71) in Thailand, Min-Hui Kim shot a 6 under par 65 in the 5th round. Kim Min-hwi, who recorded a final total of 13 under par 342, finished the tournament in a tie for ninth place. With this, Kim Min-hwi obtained the all-season tour card given to the top 35 players.

Kim Min-hwi passed the cut by reducing 7 strokes until the 4th round, but the tour card was still in a state of uncertainty. However, on the last day, he showed a terrifying back-and-forth, reducing 6 strokes, and was given a chance to re-enter the PGA Tour on the Asian Tour. 스포츠토토

Kim Min-Hyun, a former amateur national representative, advanced to the PGA Tour through the Web.com Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour) Finals in the 2014-2015 season. However, he failed to win a single match on the tour and lost his tour card as he could not get out of the swamp of sluggishness until recently. And last season, at the second part of the Korn Ferry Tour, he knocked on the tour re-entry, but failed to achieve that and turned his eyes to the Asian Tour.

A total of 42 Korean national players participated in the 2023 Asian Tour Qualifying School. A total of 8 players, including Kim Min-hwi, have obtained the seed. Among the Korean players, the highest-ranking players were Yun Sang-pil (25) and Cho Min-gyu (35, Woori Financial), who both tied for 6th place. Jeong Han-mil (32, Dohui Edgar) and last year’s KPGA Rookie of the Year Bae Yong-joon (23, CJ OnStyle) also succeeded in obtaining seeds.
