1st place Ulsan – 2nd place Pohang, the first ‘East Coast Derby’ in 2023 will be held

The first ‘East Coast Derby’ of the 2023 season will be held.

On the 22nd at 4:30 pm at Ulsan Munsu Stadium, Ulsan Hyundai and Pohang Steelers will play K-League 1 Round 8 and their 174th match. This East Coast Derby is expected to be hotter than ever.

As of the 7th round, Ulsan is in first place with 6 wins and 1 loss (18 points). Pohang (4 wins, 3 draws, 15 points) is in second place. Both have solid defenses that are currently tied for the lead in the fewest runs with 6 runs.

Ulsan recorded their first loss after being caught by Daejeon Hana Citizen in the last 7 rounds after winning 6 consecutive wins. Pohang is the only undefeated team in K League 1 this season.

In addition to the fact that it is a head-to-head match between 1st and 2nd place, the match is more interesting because of the strong bad relationship between the two teams. Ulsan has a lot of experience being caught by Pohang at every important moment. In 2013, Ulsan met Pohang in the final game of the season, and it was a home game, and even a draw could win the league. However, Pohang scored a dramatic goal in the second half, and Ulsan’s victory was thwarted.

Afterwards, Ulsan gave away the championship trophy after being reversed by Jeonbuk Hyundai at the end of three consecutive seasons from 2019, and in the process, Pohang interfered with Ulsan by spraying red pepper powder. In 2019, Ulsan-Pohang clashed in the final game of the season, and at this time, Ulsan gave away another championship with a shocking 1-4 defeat. When the East Coast Derby was held, there was also a rare scene in which Jeonbuk fans enthusiastically cheered for Pohang while singing ‘Youngil Bay Friends’.  토토사이트

This season, Ulsan has the strongest lineup in the K-League 1. Even when they lost in the last match against Daejeon, Ulsan was ahead of Daejeon in terms of possession and number of shots. The firepower of ‘Swedish Express’ Rubinson, who is leading the scorer with 5 goals, is also a corner to believe.

In Pohang, transfer students Jeka, Baek Sung-dong, and Kim In-seong all tasted goals and finished adapting. Even in difficult matches, his strength is his tenacious play, which allows him to win points with his concentration at the last minute.

If Ulsan wins, you can keep the lead comfortably, and if Pohang wins by more than 3 goals, you can pull down Ulsan and go to the lead.
