1 perfect trifecta of ‘settled in after returning’

The “Korean Monster,” Ryu Hyun-jin (36, Toronto Blue Jays), took a strong step toward his first win of the season. He struck out three batters in the first inning.

The Blue Jays hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio, on April 8 (ET).

On the mound for Toronto, Hyun-jin Ryu retired three batters in the first inning. First, he got the first batter, Steve Kwan, to ground out to first base on just two pitches.

Then, with the bases loaded, Ryu appeared to allow Andres Jimenez to hit an infield single to shortstop that was ruled out on video review.

Ryu then fought a full-count battle with Jose Ramirez, the final batter of the inning, and was hit by a hard-hit pitch, but he calmly caught it and threw to first base for the third out.먹튀검증

It was a different first inning from his last start against the Orioles. Ryu hung his head after giving up back-to-back runs in the first and second innings against Baltimore.
